This video from the cockpit of an airplane making a landing into LAX has been making the rounds lately. I even blogged about it previously here.

Having only recently watched Tron Legacy, I was immediately reminded of the similarity of the layout of the streets of LA to that of The Grid in the movie. Just for fun I got hold of the original landing footage and did some color tweaking in After Effects, slapped on a track from Daft Punk’s new Tron Legacy soundtrack, and voila!

Unfortunately as soon as I uploaded it to YouTube it got flagged by the bastards at Universal Music Group for unauthorized use of their copyrighted tune, so I had to replace it with some other track. It preserves the same mood somewhat, but still doesn’t quite have the same impact.

Anyway.

Here’s the workaround for the music:

MUTE the FIRST video.
Click on the PLAY button on both FIRST and SECOND videos at the same time.

I would have urged that you buy the excellent Tron Legacy soundtrack, but UMG’s antics kinda soured me on the idea of giving them any more money. I certainly would NOT recommend that you go to The Pirate Bay to obtain the music.
